Or Aviator, as retarded customers at work insist on calling it.

Or 'Pocahontas In Space' as I call it.

Having watched it a couple of dozen times I have moved past it's techincal 3d wizz bangs, (and don't get me wrong here, those wizz bangs are amazing) and I just can't see the film as anything other than a massive pile of shit.

Basically the film views as a massive tech demo, Cameron has developed this amazing new way of shooting 3d...I can't speak for regular cinemas, but on IMAX the visuals are stunning, but he doesn't have the story to show it off with. It all feels rather familiar.

As I've mentioned it's basically Pocohontas in Space, not only is this an awesome comparison which I'm considering copyrighting, it's also true. A Space Marine (Sailor) goes and meets a Navi (Native American), falls in love, and swaps sides to fight against his own people.

There's even a fucking magic tree for God's sake, you're half surprised that they don't break into song half way through.

I still think you should go and see it though, but only in 3-d, don't bother in 2d. It's "story" is so weak it'll make you weep for the collective 2 hours and 41 fucking minutes.

Anyone else seen this?

Officially the 5th most successful film of all time or something??

As you said...technically - it's mind blowing.

But story wise...seen it all before.

Good fun though. Sam Worthington is very, very cool.

True that, double true.

Also the treatment of the scientists in the film reminded me a lot of the South Park episode with Awesome-o.

Lot's of generals and army people ignoring "mr Scientist".

Plus the fucking pan pipes are sending me insane.

Plus Kels yeah, fastest film to reach a billion dollars, a billion fucking dollars. The exciting thing is the potential that this new 3d holds, if someone gets hold of it and makes a good film out of it...then fuck me. Given Nolan's utter love of IMAX and new tech....I wouldn't be suprised if the Batman after next...or whatever his next project might be might well use this tech...which is exciting.
